It’s pretty hard to take seriously a book that was passed down word of mouth for 300 years before being written down by monks, translated from the dead language of Arameic to various other languages, and then edited for the next 900 years by various Kings who ripped out entire sections that they disagreed with. It’s important to remember that it is a book of parables. Christianity started as a cult. There were approximately 30 other ‘prophets’ at the exact same time as Jesus (as in - walking around saying they had all the answers), who I’m sure was a nice guy who meant well, but its still a cult that has spiraled wildly out of control.
